Best Austrian wines, 2 winners, 4 stars, 2 top wines
... many reasons to cheer
Let us tell you step by step: The first good news is, that our Weinviertel DAC Reserve
HUNDSLEITEN is listed in the
Salon again, which is one of Austria's most recommended
wine guides. In this guide HUNDSLEITEN represents our PFAFFL.Pfeffer — you remember
the typical peppery spice in our Grüner Veltliners — in the category of
full bodied Grüner Veltliners.
Next, we were very excited when the new Austrian wine guide by
Vinaria arrived. There our
winery earns 4 stars and is therefore amongst the 37 best wineries in Austria. Two of our
wines — Grüner Veltliner GOLDJOCH and Riesling AM BERG — are described by
Vinaria as "Top wine, considering its provenance and vintage it is one of Austria's best
wines, which counts as top wine even compared internationally". Also remarkable are the
four wines being titled as
excellent: Grüner Veltliner
HUNDSLEITEN, Chardonnay ROSSERN, St. Laurent ALTENBERG und Heidrom. The last mentioned wine
is described as "impressing in every phase, great potential."
Finally we are very happy about the following little story: At the Vievinum — maybe Austria's
most noble wine exhibition — a delegation of Austria's Gastronomy Magazine ÖGZ including
its chief editor Walter Tucek came to us and handed out a certificate displaying our Grüner
Veltliner HUNDSLEITEN as winner of 5 glasses, which entitles it as one of Austria's best
white wines. This pleasing result is written down in the wine guide of the ÖGZ named
Österreichs beste Weißweine. In this guide our HUNDSLEITEN wins the category
Mineral, too. Furthermore, its a bit more tangy colleague Weinviertel DAC ZEISENECK
gives us reason to cheer:
It wins the category
food companion — a beautiful compliment for our PFAFFL.Pfefferl.
